THE SAMIOS FAMILY HOLDING

WIREDWORLD is a climate neutral company

Nikolas Samios’ first encounters with music- & videoproduction / recording / publishing range back to the 90is, when Nikolas was an active part of several Munich-based bands with diverse musical taste from acoustic Jazz via Fusion to a rather cheesy cover-band that was heavily booked for weddings, parties and corporate events and paid the bills.

Besides playing and arranging music, Nikolas was almost always also the “engineer”, taking care of mixing, PA, lights etc. This also contributed to the foundation of his first company in the basement of a Munich print-shop around 1995 that produced multimedia CDs and later internet websites and kick-started his entrepreneurial carear. Back then, recording on Alesis ADATs was cutting edge.

25 years later, Nikolas again set-up a recording studio - this time in Berlin - capable of both doing audio-only but also (live) audio- and video-recordings, a format that has become famous in the days of Youtube and Instragram e.g. think Pomplamoose or Martin Miller Session Band. The video below has mainly been recorded in multiple homes during the Corona lock-down early 2021 but produced and mixed at the WIREDWORLD Studios.

WIREDWORLD Studios is therefore equipped with a Presonus 32ch mixer, Universal Audio interfaces and plugins, multiple Full-HD Sony DSLRs, partly on a rig above the session room with also some DMX-controlled light, connected to a VMIX 8-ch videomixer with also 8-ch Full-HD live video recording & streaming capabilities. Several mac-based DAWs are availiable, connected to calibrated Neumann near-fill monitors (+ good old NS10s and a vintage yamaha reference amp), a broad range of microphones (including a Brauner Phantera), a state-of-the art ATV E-Drum set, several guitar and bass models, corresponding (tube)(pre)amps, diverse outboard gear, a UA Ox, a pretty good Fender Rhodes, several analog and digital synths and keyboards from Yamaha (MODX series), Novation, nord, Moog and the like. The room is connected to the internet via a low-latency 100Mbit fibre-line and also allows remote musicians to join a local session in the room via a dedicated Jamulus server (also including a video signal to be played back on multiple monitors in the room). We also have a second room for preperation, waiting time etc., a small kitchen with sufficient cold drinks and the Berlin subway nearby.

Furthermore we can also facilitate mobile recordings either in a stage/club-setting or e.g. a offsite-workshop style setup including a larger HK Audio Elements PA and in-ear or hybrid-monitoring for a mid-sized band.
